Samsung Freeform II SCH-R360 Review

Design

The Samsung Freeform I had a curvy body with candy bar design. It had touches of teal and red colors along with black which made the phone to look playful. It has black matte sides with black glossy face. It is mainly aimed at business people. It tapers at the bottom which looks like a pointed chin and other designs add polish to the set. It is thicker, wider and shorter than its predecessor as it has a dimension of 4.1×2.1×0.6. It weighs around 3.8 ounces.

The Freeform II sports a 2.2 inch display with QVGA screen and has a resolution of 144×176 pixels. It also supports 262,000 colors. Due to the bright colors the edges look crisp and sharp. There is a navigation array which allows us to navigate through the menu options below the small display. The center select button is surrounded by soft keys, speakerphone button and back button. There is talk and end buttons on both the sides of navigation toggle. The buttons are natural and soft to touch. They are very responsive and easy to press. When you are in main menu mode, if you press the select button it takes you through many applications such as Loopt, PocketExpress, MetroNavigator, Metro PCS and Mobile Banking.

The Samsung Freeform I had a keyboard design that was not attractive. But in its new Freeform II it has introduced better looking keypad design. The keys are backlit which hence helps typing even in darker environments. The tall and wider keys make typing more comfortable. But the keys are stiff and it has a cramped keyboard which is the only drawback. On the right spine are the USB charging port, camera trigger and 3.5mm headphone jack. On the back is a 1.3 mega pixel camera and it shows the micro SD card slot when the back cover pops out.
